I was born and still live in South Wales. I studied graphic design at art college and spent some years as a part time illustrator of Welsh children’s books. I have also written and published several pre-school children’s short stories as well as having taught art for thirty years to children and adults.
I have won two Welsh open art competitions and exhibit at a number of Welsh galleries.
Now retired, I have time to concentrate on my own work which is small and intimate in scale. My themes are simple sea and landscapes, children and animals, the latter being a particular passion.
Although acrylics are my favourite painting medium, I am equally comfortable with the graphic qualities of ink pen, quills and watercolour wash.
My naive style is based on imagination and memory rather than first hand observation. Children’s art has always been a big influence on my style.
