Artists and Sculpters of any level or background are invited to submit work for Art in Penallt, the event includes demonstarations and workshops for artists and visitors.
We have three unique locations where selected artists and sculptors work will be exhibited, Pelham Hall, The Bush Inn and Gwent Wildlife Trust’s Pentwyn Farm.
This year’s exhibition will run from Saturday 29th to Monday 30th August 10am - 4pm
A guest only private view will be held on Friday 28th August from 7pm
With over 1000 visitors over 3 days exhibiting at Art in Penallt is an extraordinary opportunity. As one of our selected exhibitors you’ll feature on our website, social media and benefit from our event advertising via Meta and Google. Selected exhibitors receive free admission and personal invitations to our preview evening for artists and their guests.
Our Application process requires
Application via our online process only, we do not accept email applications.
Artist’s statement of no more than 250 words. This needs to be written in the 3rd person, if you’re selected it will be copied and pasted directly onto the website, so please ensure grammar and spelling is correct.
Social media and website links.
Four high quality images of your work. These should be high-resolution jpegs no greater than 4MB each. Should selected works be sold prior to the event, we will liaise with you to identify a suitable replacement.
The dimensions of the work in cm including frame if applicable, medium, details of hanging/display requirements and retail selling price of each piece which MUST include our commission of 40%
Whether or not you intend to supply greeting cards and/or prints to display in our browsers.
Whether you are interested in running a workshop, demonstration or volunteering your time.
Copy of your insurance, if you don’t have insurance you can tick a disclaimer box confirming you take full responsibility for damage or theft.
Further information
The work is displayed on a “sale or return” basis.
You are responsible for delivery and collection of your work on the agreed dates per your contract.
Your work must be clearly priced to INCLUDE commission of 40%. If the work is chosen for display in the garden we will change the price to reflect a 30% commission.
Insurance is the responsibility of the artist, who must provide proof of insurance or a letter stating that they will accept responsibility for their own work if they choose not to secure insurance. The work submitted for the event is not insured by Art in Penallt. A link to SAA's exhibition event insurance will be provided for artists selected to exhibit.
Should your work be chosen for the event, we will consider this permission to use images of your artwork for promotional purposes.
Our aim each year is to have repeat artists along with new. We will usually show an artist for no more than two consecutive years, although we are flexible with this approach depending on the needs of the event. Even if you have exhibited in the last two events or previously not bee selected please send in your application as it still may be chosen again this year.
The deadline for applications is 28th February 2027
We will be in touch by the 30th of April 2027 to confirm if you have been selected and the new steps.
If you have not heard from us by that date you have not been selected. We know not being selected can be hard, art is subjective and all the curators are all artists too, unfortunately it is not possible to email every unsucessful application with feedback as to why they have not been selected.
