Art in Penallt returns next year, 2025.

We have decided to devote this year to planning for Art in Penallt 2025, and look forward to seeing you then.

Applications for 2025 will open early next year.

Become an Exhibitor

Artists of all levels and backgrounds are welcome to submit their work for consideration for Art in Penallt 2025 when the application process opens early 2025. In the meantime, head over to our Artist Page to see details of this year’s exhibiting artists.

In addition to the exhibition, Art in Penallt will also host a series of demos and workshops throughout the event, providing opportunities for artists and visitors to engage with one another and discuss the creative process.

In 2019 we made a successful transition to a new venue, Humble by Nature, in Penallt and we are pleased to be holding our event again in this spacious site with excellent facilities. The fine art exhibition consisting of two- and three-dimensional work will be housed in the beautiful Long Barn at the heart of the property with a good space to display outdoor sculpture.  There is plenty of room in the nearby Lambing Shed for a range of stalls as well as The Greenhouse for demonstrations by artists and makers.

Art in Penallt, supporting local charities, is a non-profit organisation, dedicated to promoting contemporary art in the local community.  Founded in 2011, the organisation has grown to become a leading showcase for emerging and established artists in the region, attracting over 1200 visitors last year.  From the proceeds of 2022's event we were able to make donations totalling £6,600 to Monmouth & District Foodbank, The Bridges Centre Monmouth and St. John Ambulance Cymru.

How to apply next year -
Complete and submit the application form (available from January 2024) below.

Either attach your images to the application form or send them separately to our email address.

  • The dimensions of the work in cm, to include the frame if applicable, the medium, details of hanging/display requirements and retail selling price of each piece.

For your information:

  • The work is displayed on a “sale or return” basis.

  • You are responsible for delivering the work and collecting it (if it has not been sold) on the agreed dates which will be found in the contract.

  • The work must be clearly priced to include commission currently of 40%.  If the work is chosen for display in the garden we will change the price to reflect a 30% commission. After expenses, the monies raised through this commission is donated entirely to charity.

  • Insurance is the responsibility of the artist, who must provide proof of insurance or a letter stating that they will accept responsibility for their own work if they choose not to secure insurance.  The work submitted for the event is not insured by Art in Penallt. A link to SAA's  exhibition event insurance will be provided for artists selected to exhibit.

  • Should your work be chosen for the event, we will consider this as permission to use the images of artwork submitted in appropriate media for promotional purposes.

Our aim is to have a good blend of repeat artists along with a healthy selection of artists new to our venue and we will usually show an artist for no more than two consecutive years, although are flexible with this approach depending on the needs of the event.  Even if you have exhibited in this event for the past two years, send in your application as it still may be chosen again this year.
