Become an Exhibitor


We will be inviting gallery applications for the 10th year of Art in Penallt, in early 2020. We hope to hear from new potential exhibitors as well as those exhibiting with us in the past. Dates for the event, along with the deadline for applications will be confirmed in the new year. 

After many happy and successful years at Capel Pentwyn, our new venue for 2019 is Humble by Nature in Penallt. We are currently looking forward to having our event in this spacious site with excellent facilities. The fine art exhibition of two and three dimensional work will be housed in a beautiful, old barn at the heart of the property. There will be a good space to display outdoor sculpture as well. There is plenty of room nearby for a range of stalls and demonstrations for artists and makers in marquees and gazebos as we have had in the past. 

The event will open with a Thursday evening preview on the evening and will run from Friday to Sunday. The stalls area will be in place on the Saturday and Sunday. 

Art in Penallt is a not for profit organisation whose aim is to organise an annual art festival in the village of Penallt, near Monmouth, celebrating and selling a wide variety of high-quality artwork. From the proceeds of last year's event we were able to make donations to both Babington Meadow of Penallt and Alzheimer’s Society. 

How to apply: 

Complete and submit the application form by downloading at the end of this page when it is made available 

Applications should include: 

  • Artist’s statement. 

  • Brief biography or CV, including address, phone number, email address. 

  • Include social media 

  • pages and website address if relevant. 

  • Five good images of your work. These need to be either good quality photographs of the work, 

  • with a clear background, up to A4 size or high-resolution jpegs no greater than 4MB each, please. Original artwork and CD submissions are not acceptable (should chosen works be sold prior to the event, we ask that you provide a suitable replacement). 

  • The size of the work, framed if applicable, the medium, details of hanging/display requirements and retail selling price of each piece. 

  • Whether or not you intend to supply greeting cards and/or prints to display in our browsers. 

For your information: 

  • The work is displayed on a “sale or return” basis. 

  • You are responsible for delivering the work and collecting it (if it has not been sold) on the agreed dates which will be found in the contract. 

  • The work must be clearly priced to include commission (commission will be stated clearly in the contract). 

  • Insurance is the responsibility of the artist. The work submitted for the exhibition is not insured by Art in Penallt. 

  • Should your work be chosen for the event, we will consider this as permission to use the images of artwork submitted in appropriate media for promotional purposes. 

Our aim is to have a good blend of repeat artists along with a healthy selection of artists new to our venue and we will usually show an artist for no more than two consecutive years, although are flexible with this approach depending on the needs of the exhibition. Even if you have exhibited for the past two years, send in your application as it still may be chosen again this year.
